The Box:House crew found the perfect venue for their foray into events, Love Shack is nestled away under the arches in Cambridge Heath, just down the road frame Space 289. A small terrace welcomes you as you walk in to the main restaurant, and then akin to walking through the wardrobe of Narnia a small doorway off to the left leads you into another room perfectly kitted out with kitsch and quirk coming together seamlessly. A small bar at the back kept the drinks flowing! Keen to point out that it was still work in progress the manager showed us the area that will house the green room and talked us through their future plans. If this little gem isn’t on your radar yet, it should be!
The whole event had a great vibe to it, with a great crowd showing full support for the DJ’s and head man Conor Gouldsboro (Lost Boys UK).
Dezray, know for his deep, soulful grooves and smooth melodies, was the perfect start to the night chilled, ambient and welcoming tracks that gently eased the people through the door, taking over from him, Malle and Altitude360 showed how much fun back to back can be! Malle has been gaining pace as a DJ and producer in the scene releasing music on some of the hottest underground labels and being hand picked to guest mix for the amazing Clara de Costa and her show Jacks House on the infamous Ibiza Global Radio. Malle and Altitude360 came fresh from the studio where they've been working on a tasty little collab. They were clearly having a great time and worked brilliantly together, upping the pace and bringing everyone onto the dance floor ahead of the headlining Lost Boys. Taking to the decks amid a chorus of “Conor, Conor!”, he played a lovely mix of house and deep house which had universal appeal to everyone in the room.
Lost Boys is known for his heavy baselines & space inspired melodies, and has a track record of mesmerising rave-goers and introducing them to new sounds.
He takes inspiration from the underground scenes in London and Paris and blends them together to create a unique and exciting dance floor experience
Last up for the night was Alames. Hailing from London, the group is formed of good friends Alex and James, who pump out the best in Deep Tech, Minimal House & Electro. Although relative newcomers they showed how comfortable and skilled they are behind the decks and I’ve no doubt you’ll hear more of them in the future.
I can safely say you’ll be some of these names on Sensisity line-ups in the future!
